Very unique scenery and style. Lighting is great. A shame gameplay is bad, partly because of bad item choice and location, bad connectivity and because inside areas are too narrow for decent fighting and movement. A missed opportunity!

I just wish this map had more jail cells and then it could be a more authentic remake of the first Wolfenstein level.

Well, I dunno who reviewed it, but I like this map. It could have been built a little better, but it gives the feel of a more realistic FIGHT rather than an arena.

I haven't posted here in forever but I feel like it now...

I did a bunch of reviews a while ago (years I think) and I disagree with v's comment that reviewers should not review a map they do not love/like. After all, everything would have positive reviews then. (Except when the map was error-filled, as he said, and such reviews are somewhat pointless; almost NO ONE is going to play a map that has huge errors, unless they want a lesson in what not to do, or if other aspects are worthwhile.)

You should (do those tags still work here?) always find the good in a map and mention what aspects some people may enjoy, or what type of people may enjoy it (e.g. people who play a certain gametype). And you shouldn't review a map for a gametype you don't play or don't like at all. But beyond that, if you don't like a map, there's other people who won't like it...so review it and say you don't like it, and why! Which BFG did just fine, IMHO.

Before anyone complains, I haven't played the level (Q3A is gathering dust on my hard drive :-( ) but I just wanted to remark on this.

v1l3 and J2KoOl63 thanks for your comments and happy to hear you had a bit of fun with wolves as that is cool. As far as a review being positive or negative that is ok as everyone has varied opinions on what is good and what is bad.For instance over at fpsheaven.com DarkangelUK was probably a bit too kind as some of the review stated-(Excellent conversion and indeed a nice twist to the Q3 fragging, all we need now is weapon models and player skins and we're sorted!) I appreciate the good as well as the bad reviews as it is all about learning to be better. It would be great to be as skilled as kat-inner sanctum plus others or sock-twisted palace of hate plus others but i know i will never be that good as they are masters at the art. So i work to my best and strive to do the odd shader and try like hell to become better with bevels.I look back at a couple maps i made and wish i never released them now but live and learn is the key.I am just like anyone else that still plays quake 3 and that is a lover of the greatest online fragfest ever. One cool thing is all the peeps keep mapping which helps to keep q3 alive and fresh and a map you don't enjoy costs nothing and can be deleted from your pc in seconds flat. Now go grab all of socks and kats levels and fragon brothers! cya

Well, I made two reviews this past week. I believe in the same theory, but I think if people want to review they have the right. I only want to do ones I like really (unless it is that crappy). One of the maps I reviewed so happens to be a box map. Amazing how a box map can be good, and it is rather small. :)

There's no such thing as a unliked map. Everyone has their taste in something different, and every map that is more than just a box map is going to be liked by somebody, and not necessarily by a reviewer. If maps were only reviewed by people that only reviewed a map based on whether they like the map, there would be more interesting reviews.

Review a map if you love it, or review it if you find it done with so many errors that it needs to be told. If it's not your taste in maps, leave it for someone who likes it. (my personal theory)

Maps these days with terrible item placement can be fixed with ICE mod(

www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx

)to make a .map file with a new item configuration, and than you can play the new item configuration through Cpma. Who cares about bad item placement when you can set it up to your own liking.

I thought it was a pretty interesting map.

{BFG20K} Thanks for taking the time to review wolves and sorry to hear it was not to your liking.I named this level wolves for obvious reasons.Click on the readme and all is explaned how and why i put this level together.I for one (long before i ever tried to make a map) have always been a lover of converted maps. For example deck16 from unreal was created from scratch by Gilbert "Cold" Rizo for quake 3 and released as colddeckq3 and he did a great job. There are many maps from q3 in unreal and many peeps also ported q2 to q3 which i enjoy. So now you can see i was driven to do this map as nobody else looked like doing it for me lol.I hope some of you enjoy the map but in reality i made this map for me and i will forever enjoy a frag here.cya

I found wolves to be a fun level to destroy bots. Sure, I found myself wondering where I am and where to go. The item placement was not that good either. The bots played decent, although I found them too easy for most parts. I liked how ROODOG used things from RTCW, so that was a plus. I found the map to be unique, but playing wise not as much.

6/10
