The first official Quake 3 release from Master Jed is a cel-shaded treat. A bright orange and white color scheme with simple, yet striking architecture reminds me of a similar style cel-shaded map: unbalanced. The subtle details augment the map style: red winding pipes lead you to weapons which are marked by vertically bobbing geometry.

Basically a 4 level, open arena with wide staircases and a couple of jumppads to navigate the map. There is a good balance health around, but weapons and ammo are just one each. Bots play fine, but don't usually venture to the top level for the plasma and rocket launcher. They focus on the lightning and shotgun on the middle levels near the quad and YA. Some other items would have been good on the highest level to draw gameplay there (perhaps this is not an issue with real players).

Each level is very wide open which seems to draw away from the vertical element of the map (perhaps no rail is included due to this). Most firefights tend to be more flat than death-from-above. Otherwise, the map is very enjoyable. Grab it and give 'er a whirl.

But seriously, I liked how the author somehow managed to make this look so cartoony. As for the gameplay - meh its good. I would have liked it better if the map was bigger. A pretty good level. I give this a 6

Futuristic map that makes you feel like if you are in the middle of Ghost in the Shell or Gundam. I'm having great fun playing this one against Sonic the Hedgehog bot :)

It was impressive to see how visually exquisite the cel shaded effect works in this map. The anime character appears to belong in it. Game play is great and fast paced. I assessed it much higher than its current 7.18 rating.

Good map, visually and game play, but it´s a headache for us with weaker PCs, got very low FPS on it, bummer.

One of the best looks I have seen for a long time for a map. I adore the architecture used and every element used for the cell-shaded feel. Although some areas were a little wide and that there wasn't a lot of vertical gameplay, the action to me was still very fun. I'm sort of glad the lightning gun was the main weapon used in this map since in most it is often the one that is least used. So I'm thrilled it finally got that recognition. Overall I believe Master Jed has created a real masterpiece. If he can stay active, maybe he can revive this small dying community we have here with some other great maps.

This one is staying with me.
