..::LvL Experimental Single Player Comp Rules (2010)

..::LvL Experimental Single Player Comp details:
- Submitted maps:
- Must be built to be played with Quake 3 Arena, version 1.32 or newer.
- Must be suited for a single player only gameplay. If a map can be played in another game mode, or with a mod, that is fine, but all maps will be judged on Single Player gameplay only.
- Must be able to be played without any mods. A possible workaround is to include any parts from a mod with the map, but make sure you have permission to do so first.
- Only completely finished works will be consitited. No beta or alpha releases. Version updates that correct bugs or issues will be accepted.
- Must be submitted by the deadline, 3rd Dec, 2010.
- All submitted artwork must either be yours, or free to distribute without fees. Basically, no copyrighted works without permission.
- All submitted releases must be able to be free to distribute. Basically, this means listed for download on any of the ..::LvL download mirrors.
- Must contain some kind of a readme file that contains author details, contact details and information about any included artwork as a bare minimum. See the standard ..::LvL readme file for an example.
- How to submit a map:
- Send your map in using the standard submission form, just make sure it is clear that your submission is for the Experimental Single Player Comp, otherwise your submission may end up the standard map queue!
- All maps can be submitted before the close date, however judging will NOT start until the 4th Dec, 2010.
- A confirmation email will be sent out once your submission has been received.
- Judging of submitted works:
- All works will be judged by Anthem, Morbus, bliccer and Tig. If you want to help judge, get in touch.
- Judging will being on the 4th Dec, 2010. You will need to check the front page of ..::LvL for status reports.
- Judging will be on:
- Enjoyment level - At the end of the game, does it make you go WOW or make you want to play the map again?
- Learning curve - How easy and quick it is to understand how to play the work.
- Polish - Just how well finished the release is. While less important than the others, this will have an affect on the overall game play experience.
- Winners will be announced as soon as possible after the 4th Dec. At this stage it is expected to take about 1 week to find a winner (so around the 11th Dec).
- Prizes:
- There are no physical prizes, just bragging rights.
- All submitted, finished maps will be listed on ..::LvL, however the listings may be spread over time, not all at once.
- The top maps will be included in a download pack, as well as being listed individually on ..::LvL
- If you want to submitted a prize, feel free to get in touch, however you will be responsible for sending out the prize AND the prize must be able to be sent to anywhere in the world, not limited to a country or region.
