overview: This map has been a huge undertaking from day one.
It was started out to be a CTF map. But after running into
signifigant problems, I switched it over to a deathmatch map.
I have learned so much from this map. I don't recall learning
this much in 1 map, other than the very first time I ever editited.
I guess after 7 weeks of developement you have to learn
something. :) I didn't spend all that time actually editing, alot
of it was countless compiles, and compile problems. :( I also
slipped a 7 day cruise in there to the carribean :). But
really. I have worked longer on this map, than any other map
ever. Tons of detail, and lots of work. I will probably have
a few complaints about r_speeds in the main courtyard. I look
at it this way, processors are getting faster, and faster, and
cheaper. A 1 ghz cpu and Geforce 2 or above should handle this
map fine. And those can be found fairly cheap nowdays! There is no
need to use the r_speed guidelines for Quake 3, that was set
years ago. All computers are much faster now. :)
The map takes place in an ancient castle, where prisoners
were kept in the dungeon, and sacraficed to the water God.
They would be led down a hanging bridge to the platform where
they were sacraficed. The Elders would observe from the higher
platform above. The Water god seemed unhappy, and brought non stop
rains. As the heavy rain fell day after day, the building
literally started crumbling around them. The elders observed
this to be the water god angry at them for such weak sacrafices.
With the place in ruins, they had no other chioce but to leave.
If you listen well, you may hear screams from the dead!
What better place to hold a tournament? You are fighting for your life
in the temple. Hoping to just finish alive!!
Recomended: 8 - 10+ players/bots. With bots being on higher difficulty!!
