From the author's notes: "...inspired by the greatest duel map from Blood/Blood 2: The Chosen..."
This is a very simple map from the early days - it's map #42 here. Essentially two rooms, with two elevations and halls connecting them, the map is small and visually pretty uninteresting.
But sometimes things just come together and work. There's just enough variation here to keep things moving and fun. I can see why the author liked the original map enough to adapt it to Q3.

Ever play Blood? This is a classic Blood map. And it was also on Blood 2. Don't give him crap, he did a great job on making it look Q3 style. I give it a 10! Classic map.

What's up with all these bland q3 maps?Everytime I have ever downloaded a q2 map...there was always things that stood out, whether it be architecture or unique textures...this map is too small, bland, dull, and boring to put things lightly

This map is way to easy to dominate and becomes very boaring very quickly!!
