Map's description : This is my fourth map for quake 3 called Citadel of the
Forgotten Sky which is a ctf game mode map. I'll start
with saying this map means a lot to me because the last
time I touched this thing was when I worked on it on
04/11/2006. It has hit me hard just because it was the
last Q3 project I was working on and never finished...
until now that is. After just over 20 years later here it
finally is and ready to be fragged upon. I felt the name
was appropriate and fitting all things considered but yeah
anyways no more back story. I designed this map to
look and feel like old school Q3 you know the way it felt
back in 1999 but also polished with good quality textures
and fun slightly more modern feel as well and I personally
am very happy with the outcome. I optimized this lvl with
4v4 in mind but if your feeling chaotic or craving a big
old school lan party the map does support 6v6. The map
also has full bot support which I tried to optimize the
bot game play as much as I could as I have no friends and
play a lot of offline bot matches my self. I don't think I
have anything else to mention other than I hope people
enjoy it and I wont lie I freaking love this map and
pretty sure its my favorite one I've made... so far.
This map supports CTF game mode only.

The custom textures I used for this map are from the Hope and Glory pack by Mike "Myth" Denby
which I upscaled x2 to bring the quality up slightly from original.
I also used a light texture from a texture pack by Mr. Clean.
The EL bounce pad model I am not sure who made it I found it randomly in some old quake 3 files. In
the shader file all it said was "Shader fixed by: Karloff" if someone knows contact me and I will
give proper credit here.
The custom sky I used is from the Ultimate Skybox Pack (3700+ Skies with Shaders) posted by quBit

* Construction *
Base : Built from scratch
Editor('s) used : NetRadiant-Custom, Q3map2, mbspc, Upscayl.
Known Bugs : The music .wav file is in 44k so Q3 may warn you in the console that its not 22k but will play
perfectly fine I left it because the quality is better. This does not cause any problems just
warns you anyways.
Build/Animation time : If I put 20 years here you will laugh right.... In a reality I am not 100 percent sure at this
point I would say 4-5 days give or take.
Compile machine: This map was made and compiled originally on my athlon xp 2600, geforce 6600 gt back in the day but was
finished on my i7 2600, gtx 970 system on linux mint xcfe... Gotta love linux giving old hardware new life.
* How to use this map *
Unzip sq3ctf2_COTFS.pk3 into your quake 3 base directory.
For example: (C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\baseq3)
